The Caldwell Classic
5K ★ 1 MILE ★ YOUTH 5K
We start beside Indian Creek, run a flat, fast loop through historic downtown Caldwell, and finish back at the plaza, where the party is already going. The course is fast enough for your PR and friendly enough for your six-year-old.
WHY WE LOVE THIS MORNING
Downtown Caldwell finally has a race of its own.
Downtown Caldwell doesn't get many race mornings, so we're building one the whole town can show up for. Some people come to chase a fast time on flat streets, and some come to walk the 1 Mile with a stroller and a coffee in hand. Either way, everyone ends up back at Indian Creek Plaza. Watching our runners cross the finish line there in June was the moment we'd been thinking about since January, and we're already looking forward to the third annual Classic. This year, every entry also supports Advocates Against Family Violence, so your morning downtown helps neighbors right here in our community.

START AND FINISH: Indian Creek Plaza, 120 S Kimball Ave, Caldwell
DISTANCES: The 5K, the 1 Mile, and the Youth 5K
START TIME: Every distance starts together at 8:00 AM.
EVERY RUNNER: A locally designed, moisture-wicking race shirt for every registered runner, and chip timing
CUTOFF: The 1 Mile closes at 9:30 AM, and the 5K closes at 11:00 AM.
LITTLE ONES: Kids under 5 run free, and you can sign them up if you'd like them to get a race shirt.
WHERE IT GOES: Race proceeds benefit Advocates Against Family Violence.
Chase a PR on flat downtown streets
The course is flat, paved, and chip timed from start to finish. If you've been waiting for a fast 5K, this is a good morning to go after it.
Bring the kids, because they get a race too
The 1 Mile and the Youth 5K start at 8:00 AM right alongside the 5K, so your kids can run their own race while you run yours. You can sprint it, jog it, walk it, or push a stroller the whole way.
Stay for the party at Indian Creek Plaza
The fun doesn't stop when you cross the finish line. In 2026, the finish line festival filled the plaza with music, sponsor tents, and free massages, and we hope you'll stick around and celebrate with us.
THE COURSE
Along the creek, through downtown, and back to the plaza.
Your morning starts along Indian Creek. From there, the route winds through Caldwell's historic downtown corridor and one of its most charming neighborhoods, then passes Indian Creek Park before bringing you home to the plaza. The whole thing is on paved roads with no hills to worry about, so it works as well for a first-time runner as it does for someone chasing a personal best.

RACE DAY
From packet pickup to the party on the plaza.
Race week starts at Fleet Feet and ends with a celebration downtown. This is what race week looked like in 2026, and we'll confirm every 2027 time in our race week emails.
Race week packet pickup: Make a plan to pick up your bib and shirt at Fleet Feet before race day. It only takes a few minutes, and you'll show up Saturday morning ready to go. In 2026, you could grab them on Wednesday from noon to 6:00 PM at Fleet Feet Meridian or on Thursday from noon to 6:00 PM at Fleet Feet Nampa.
Parking: There's plenty of free street parking around downtown Caldwell, and our parking map shows you exactly where to go.
6:45 AM: We open a limited race day packet pickup at the start for anyone who couldn't make it to Fleet Feet. It closes at 7:30 AM.
8:00 AM: The 5K, the 1 Mile, and the Youth 5K all start together.
The finish line festival: Find your people and stay a while on the plaza. Fleet Feet Treasure Valley, Boise Running Races, and our sponsors host the party with music, local vendors, and free massages, and cheering in the last finishers is our favorite part of the morning.
9:30 AM: The 1 Mile course closes.
11:00 AM: The 5K course closes, which gives everyone three full hours to finish.
WHERE THE MONEY GOES
Your race supports Advocates Against Family Violence.
Proceeds from the Caldwell Classic go to Advocates Against Family Violence, so every runner, walker, and stroller on the course is helping a local organization that supports families in our community. Based right here in Caldwell, Advocates Against Family Violence works to eliminate domestic violence in the lives of everyone it serves. Their team offers crisis support, court advocacy, counseling for survivors, and emergency and affordable housing, including the Hope's Door shelter.

Yes, and we hope they will. The 1 Mile and the Youth 5K both start at 8:00 AM with the 5K, so the whole family can race the same morning. Kids under 5 run free, and if you'd like them to get a race shirt, just sign them up.

Not at all. You can sprint it, jog it, walk it, or push a stroller, and the 5K stays open until 11:00 AM so nobody has to rush.

Please plan to pick up your packet early at Fleet Feet Meridian or Fleet Feet Nampa during race week. It only takes a few minutes, and it's the easiest way to start race day, because you'll skip the race morning line and walk up to the start ready to run. We'll email the 2027 days and times, and a small race morning pickup at the start is there for anyone who truly can't make it to a store.
