FAQs

  • Our races are built to be as inclusive as possible. Sometimes we need to have course cutoffs, but we try and make these cutoffs as generous as possible so that as many people can participate as possible.

  • Yes! We always want to make sure you stay hydrated and fueled while racing!

Each event has its own hydration and nutrition, but here is what to expect at each type of event:

    1. 5K to 10K: There will always be at least one aid station with water and electrolytes

    2. Anything more than 10K: In addition to aid stations with water and electrolytes, we will also always have gels and or chews for participants.

  • Yes.

In order to keep our participants as safe and supported as possible we have cut off times for our races.

Please see our race cutoffs for each event on its page. For shorter events, the cutoff times are so generous that they should accommodate athletes that would like to participate at a slow walk or hiking pace.

  • No.

Only registered athletes will be allowed to run the marked courses during the event due to insurance requirements.

  • Yes, absolutely!

Friends and family are welcome to spectate from the start/finish area or to find a suitable place to cheer from the course. Because of the limited space on the trails & courses, we strongly advise that any cheerleaders make their way onto the course well before start time to ensure that they find a good spot and can avoid obstructing the course when participants start to come through.

  • Race day registration may not be available if we have sold out the event in advance of race day.

We will allow race day registration if there are still spots. If the registration for the event is still open online, you can still register.

We will never allow registrations less than a half hour before each race starts.

Please register early if possible, to ensure that you have a spot as races have sold out in the past! Note that all of our events have swag item deadlines. If you sign up after the deadline, you are not guaranteed to receive a your desired size in the race swag item.

  • Bathrooms will be available at the start/finish areas of the races.

Please find a volunteer at your race if you are not sure where the bathrooms are located.

  • We encourage it!

Please try and coordinate with family, friends, and running buddies to help us reduce the traffic, free up some parking, and save some of that precious gas money!

We always encourage carpooling, but it is strongly encouraged at Idaho Running Day and Boise Front Trail Festival as both of these venues are further from Boise and have limited parking available.

  • Our race committee knows just about as well as anyone that dogs make the BEST running companions!

Unfortunately because of the limited trail/road capacity and close proximity between participants at this event dogs are not allowed on the course during the event.

  • There are no refunds for events however we do offer both injury and pregnancy deferrals.

Please email us at: info@boiserunning.com if you need a deferral.

Please note that if you email us the week of your race we will not get back to you until after race day.

  • We have several races that take place on the Boise River Greenbelt.

However, the Greenbelt is not closed for races.

Pedestrians have the right of way, but please stay to the right when not passing so that bikes can pass you.

  • YES!

No worries at all BUT you do need to let us know!

It is best if you let us know before picking up your bib and we will get you switched over and give you the appropriate bib.

If you need to change your race distance after you pick up your bib but before the race starts, please come see us on race day at the packet pickup area, or find a volunteer to direct you.

NOTE: If you change race distances on race day your results may be delayed and you will not be eligible for awards if you switch your race distance less than a half hour before the race starts.
